AKERS HOME
Precocious, bearing at about 3 years.  It has a naturally spreading shape. The chill hour requirement is only 350. Occasionally gets some fire blight but it does not seem to descend down the limb. Fruit is very large with a traditional pear shape and with a red blush on the sun exposed side. It bears heavily every year.  Softens when ripe. Pollinate with Southern Queen or Southern Bartlett.

ATLAS SUPER ORIENT
Orients are long term investments as they will begin bearing in 3-5 years and will be around 25-75 years if properly attended. Late bloomers and very resistant to fire blight. Very low chill requirements. Fruit medium speckled- hard textured.

Meadows
The chill hour requirement is 450. Fruit is good quality Bartlett shape. Fireblight resisitant. Upright form; bears at a young age.

SOUTHERN BARTLETT
Spreading tree shape, and bears in about 4-5 years.  Chill requirement - about 450 hours.  Fireblight resistant. Good quality; Bartlett shape. Southern Bartlett seems to be more of an alternate year bearer. Pollinate with Acres Homes or Southern Queen.

SOUTHERN QUEEN
It is upright in growth habit and does not grow quite as rapidly as Acres Home.  The chill hour requirement is 350. Southern Queen seems totally blight resistant. Bartlett-shaped fruit is russeted, crunchy, mild and sweet with all fruit evenly pear shaped. It bears heavily every year. Pollinate with Acres Homes or Southern Bartlett.
