Citrus trees budded on dwarf rootstock (Flying Dragon) will bear fruit that
is comparable in size and taste to the fruit that is harvested from trees on
standard rootstock.
Citrus trees budded on dwarf rootstock (Flying Dragon) are slightly more
cold hardy than trees budded on standard rootstock. Flying Dragon rootstock
is probably the most cold hardy rootstock available.
Citrus trees budded on dwarf rootstock (Flying Dragon) are an excellent
choice for the home owner with a small yard or where protection from colder
temperatures are a concern. These trees should grow to 1/2 to 2/3 the size
of the same variety budded on standard rootstock. Dwarf citrus is an
excellent choice for container plantings. Dwarf citrus planted in a 25-40
gallon container will provide an excellent landscape piece while providing
an ample supply of fresh fruit.
